The mission of IVY is to strengthen the capacity of people,
by assisting local people to make practice of community development and

Brief History of IVY’s Operation in Cambodia

1991

- IVY was established as JVC Yamagata in Yamagata, Japan.

1993 - Started to support homeless people in Phnom Penh through a local institution.
1996

- Set up IVY Cambodia office in Phnom Penh, started to support village women
  in Koh Kor, Kandal Province.
1999

- The name of the organization was changed to International Volunteer Center of
  Yamagata.
  - Started to support women in two villages in Chhoeu Teal Commune,
  Svay Rieng province.
2001

- Conducted emergency support for drought-hit areas for two times 
  (livestock feed distribution and rice distribution)
2002 - Opened the IVY experimental farm in Chhoeu Teal Commune.
  - Launched a one-year project titled “Capacity Building of Grassroots Veterinary
  (VLA/VLV)” under the mini JICA-NGO partnership program.
2003

- Launched a three-year project titled “Women’s participation in Rural Development 
  through Sustainable Agriculture” under the JICA-NGO partnership program.
2007

- Launched a three-year project titled “Women’s participation in Rural Development
  through Collective Vegetable Shipment” under the JICA-NGO partnership program.
2010


- Launched a 2-year-3-months project titled "Development of Supply and
  Distribution System for vegetable in Svay Rieng" under the JICA-NGO
  partnership program.
